·         www.venturewire.com  A great place to stay
abreast of private funding of Technology companies on a daily basis.

·         Navigator is the home page used by the newsroom of The New York Times for forays into the Web. A great place to start your research on a specific topic.

·         www.archive.org This site has a search engine called the Wayback Machine which allows users to view  websites of companies as they appeared in the past.  It is a valuable research tool as it will also pull up the website of a company no longer in business. 

 

Favorite Books..

    • The Innovator’s Solution – by Clayton Christensen, author of the Innovator’s Dilemma.  A great theory of why large companies have trouble sustaining growth over time and how they might succeed at it.

 

    • Business Sense – by Dan Thomas, gives great advice on how to build and maintain a successful business.

 

    • NONZERO – by Robert Wright.       Win-win thinking is a natural part of evolution in Wright’s theory of where humanity is headed.  A powerful and exciting view of the future of mankind.

 

    • Authentic Happiness – By Martin E. Seligman.  After 50 years of studying mental illness, Seligman, former President of the American Psychological Association, has launched an international effort to discover what causes mental wellness. 

 

    • Undaunted Courage – by Stephan Ambrose.  In its day, the Lewis and Clark Expedition was the equivalent to man’s first trip to the moon.
